Fire prevention week

Central Point, Ore., — Fire District Three is turning fire prevention week into fire prevention month.

The fire fighters want to do something different this year to stand out.

The district has ordered 10-thousand coffee sleeves featuring fire prevention tips.

The sleeves will go to local coffee shops.

“We’re always looking for something fun, something different, and I know I get a coffee every morning, so it’s kind of a great way to reach a different audience.”

The rest of the month they’ll be holding several events with the community, including one tomorrow afternoon at Jewett Elementary School.

As always they will be giving out and installing free smoke detectors.

There will be an event on the 21st, 24th and 25th all at Jewett Elementary as well.

On the 17th there will be an event at May Richardsons.
