Former AG Frohnmayer’s daughter succumbs to Fanconi Anemia

Portland, Ore. — The last of the late Attorney General Dave Frohnmayer’s three daughters passed away this weekend from complications with the genetic disorder, Fanconi Anemia.

Amy Frohnmayer Winn was a champion for FA, serving on the board for the Fanconi Anemia Research Fund. She earned her master’s in counseling, and was married this summer to the love of her life, Alex Winn.

Her former music teacher and long-time family friend remembers Amy as kind and caring, with an infectious smile.

“Every time she entered the room the room was brighter,” Lynn Sjolund says, “she loved people, people loved Amy.”

“Even when she was sick just this summer, the people that she thought about were all those around her,” Sjolund adds, “She just radiated goodness, amazing thing.”

Amy’s two sisters who also suffered from FA, died in 1991 and 1997.

She is survived by her husband, mother, and two brothers. Amy was 29.
