Update (03/24, 4:55pm) — A Deschutes County Judge says an alleged murder confession made by a former nurse from Sky Lakes Medical Center can be used in court. Defense attorneys argued unsuccessfully that the statement should be covered under patient confidentiality laws.
Judd has not entered a plea, and no trial date has been set.

Deschutes County, Ore. — A former nurse from Sky Lakes Medical Center has been charged with murder in Deschutes County.
45-year-old Angela Judd is accused of smothering her 92-year-old grandmother Nada Bodholdt to death with a pillow on New Year’s Eve. Prosecutors say Judd told a counselor about the incident in late January. The counselor then reported the elder abuse to authorities.
Judd’s employment with Sky Lakes ended Monday.
