Free cats going quickly at Catstravaganza

Medford, Ore. — With many cats and little room, local shelters are asking the community to adopt some furry felines at no cost.

The Jackson County Animal Shelter, Sanctuary One and Southern Oregon Humane Society have 65 cats to give away during their Catstravaganza this weekend.

That means you can adopt a vaccinated and neutered adult cat for free.

“Our adult cats stay here a little longer than usual. Our kittens leave within a week, and some of our adult cats are here for months if not a year,” Adoption Supervisor Estrella Cervantes.

Cervantes says out of the 15 cats SO Humane is giving away today, five were already adopted in the first 45 minutes.

If you want to adopt a free cat, visit one of the three local shelters by 4pm Sunday afternoon.
