Good samaritans rescue driver from burning car

Phoenix, Ore.- Oregon State Police is crediting witnesses for saving a driver from a burning car Monday morning.

Investigators say the driver was heading south on Interstate 5 when they lost control of their car and hit the overpass near the Phoenix interchange. The car burst into flames.

According to police, witnesses pulled over and pulled the driver from the car. They then used personal fire extinguishers to keep the fire from spreading.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
