I-5 to temporarily close for bridge demolition in N. California

Lakehead, Calif. — Interstate 5 will temporarily close to traffic for around half-an-hour on Saturday, January 14, according to the California Department of Transportation.

CalTrans said police will hold traffic between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. to allow contractors to demolish the fifth span of the old Antler’s Bridge alongside I-5.

Caltrans said explosives will be used, so they’re advising the public not to travel to the demolitions site during the blast.
