Jackson Co. Commissioner calls for Corrections Department review

BREIDENTHAL

Medford, Ore.–  Jackson County Commissioner Doug Breidenthal calls for a program review of the Corrections Department.

Breidenthal says after the recent arrest of the department director, Shane Hagey, who is charged with meth possession, the community deserves transparency.

“There’s questions regarding his wife being the number two at OnTrack, the lawyer for the organization, the relationships with those programs,” Breidenthal explains.  “Shedding a little light on a program and a peer review process is always a good thing.”

Commissioners Dyer and Roberts both say while they are not opposed to a review of the department, they don’t think now is the right time.

Dyer suggests either an internal review now or putting off a peer review until a new director is brought in.
