Medford, Ore. — The Jackson County Sheriff’s office is looking for a man they say led them on a pursuit Thursday night, and tonight, his family is pleading that they do more to find him. According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attempted to pull over 35-year-old Leonard Johnson for a traffic violation, when he took off. They say he crashed his car on I-5, before running into Bear Creek where police lost sight of him.

The mother of his 3 children says he would have called if he was on the run, and she fears he may have been swept away by the current.

“I know he messed up or whatever but still he’s a person and he needs to be found, I just think that they would be looking more in the river, and searching and looking for him because he has a family who needs him.”

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says a search and rescue team is searching the creek, and Johnson has been declared a missing person. If anyone has information they’re asked to call police.
