James “Whitey” Bulger dies in prison

BRUCETON MILLS, W.V. — Federal officials say notorious gangster James “Whitey” Bulger, has been found dead at the West Virginia prison to which he had just been moved.

Bulger was convicted in 2013 for eleven murders in the 1970s and 1980s.

He was serving a life sentence in a Florida prison but had been very recently moved to a transfer facility in Oklahoma and then to a West Virginia high-security prison.

That’s where he died.

Bulger was 89 years old.
