13 inches of snow drop on Mt. Ashland

Ashland, Ore.– After two years of a short ski season, Mount Ashland operators said they’re thrilled with newly fallen snow.
13 inches of snow fell over night and it’s definitely looking like a winter wonderland.

“It’s fun,” said Charolette Stevens.

And getting there is just the beginning with the landscape blanketed by fresh snow.

“I love it. I’ve been over the heat in Texas so coming up to the snow is pretty awesome,” said Malcolm Clemons.

Clemons came up to snowboard for the first time since he moved to the Rogue Valley.

Enjoying the foot of snow.

“I haven’t done it in a long time, so I fell a lot. There’s like two feet up there.”

Even furry friends like Coco, the French Bulldog made it up the mountain. And her baby brother lark bundled up on his mom, Stevens, also enjoying the mountain for the first time.

While only the crisp breeze is moving the lifts for now. The ski resort’s Manager Hiram Towle said he’s enthusiastic about this winter. And so are Clemons and Stevens .

Towle said they do have the season scheduled to open next weekend, now it all depends on mother nature.
