1/4 Oregon Students Are Chronically Absent

25-percent of Oregon students miss school. A recent Attendance Works study showed that a shocking 130,000 of those students were kindergartners.

Here in the Oregon the numbers are very similar, but unlike other states educators in Oregon are faced with a roadblock. Under current law, students under the age of 7 are not required to attend class.

That’s why some schools have started implementing new reward programs for attendance.
