(WBBH) A 68-year-old Naples, Florida woman is being hailed as a hero after saving her own husband from their burning home on Sunday.
Gerry Simmons and husband woke up from a nap to find their house on fire. Simmons stopped at nothing to get her disabled husband to safety, even carrying him most of the way.
The couple was taking a nap on Sunday afternoon when they heard their two dogs barking. When they woke up, their home was on fire.
“I turned over and I saw flames five feet high,” said Gerry Simmons.
