ACH Ranks Worst In State For Employees Vaccinated For Flu

The Oregon Health Authority ranks Ashland Community Hospital as the worst in the state last year when it comes to its health care workers getting vaccinated for the flu virus.

The OHA report for last year’s flu season, 2011 to 2012, says only 34% of Ashland Community Hospital workers were vaccinated for the flu virus.

A hospital spokesperson says this year they’re working hard to turn that statistic around. They claim through education and easy employee access to the vaccine they’ve been able to raise this year’s flu season worker vaccination rate.

Of Southern Oregon’s hospitals, Three Rivers in Grants Pass is ranked best with a 76% worker vaccination rate. That’s followed by Medford’s Rogue Regional Medical with 74%, then Providence with 58%. So far this year Providence has brought its numbers up to 68%.
