Air stagnation advisory in effect until Monday

JACKSON COUNTY, ORE. — The National Weather Service has extended an air stagnation advisory throughout Southern Oregon until Monday morning.

Despite the unhealthy air levels, hikers took to the trails of Upper Table Rock Mountain on new year’s morning.

“I feel like we are going high up in elevation where it’s not going to be a problem, so we are just going to check it out and we brought all kinds of water and stuff like that, so we’ll be fine,” said hiker Rachael Norton.

The advisory is issued for Jackson, Josephine, Douglas and Curry Counties.

Those with breathing problems should limit their time outside.
