Dog dies in motor home fire

WHITE CITY, ORE. — Firefighers from Jackson County Fire District 3 say a woman is lucky to be alive after her motor home caught fire early Thursday morning.

Crews responded the fire just before 3am on Antioch Road in White City.

Firefighters say the woman noticed something was wrong with her engine when the vehicle was driving up the hill.

“She was able to do the right thing and pull the vehicle off to the side of the road,” said TJ Lockwood, firefighter.

“She did mention she tried to get the dog to exit the vehicle, and it wouldn’t for whatever reason. And it’s very unfortunate she lost her animal.”

Lockwood says the incline in the road was too much for the engine to handle.

The motor home is a complete loss.
