Ore. — The system alerting you about missing children in your area is now available on Facebook.
Amber alerts have been available to users on Facebook via local law enforcement pages, but now users can get information quicker by receiving direct updates from state amber alerts pages by choosing which alerts they want to see.
When it comes to missing children or amber alerts time is of the essence we usually only have a couple hours to recover the child alive in some cases.
Around 800,000 children are reported missing every year; the amber alert program has been credited with the recovery of 525 children since it began in 1996.
