Jacksonville, Ore. — The biggest yard sale of the year kicks off on Friday bringing thousands of people to the streets of Downtown Jacksonville.

Multiple signs for the annual City Yard Sale line 5th street while people haul their treasures from one vendor to the next.  It’s a great way to for residents, business and clubs to bring in extra money.

But for the Jacksonville Presbyterian Church it’s the one thing that keeps their youth mission’s trip alive.

“Every year we go down and build houses and everything that’s donated to our yard sale all those proceeds go to helping pay for the food and travel down there for our group,” said Child Youth Leader, Joe Ferguson.

The yard sale will run until Sunday and a tip for those looking to visit? Bring cash and be ready to bargain.
