San Francisco, Cali. — (CSN Bay Area) The “Batkid,” also known as 5 year-old Miles Scott from Tulelake was at the ballpark Tuesday in San Francisco to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Giants home opener.

He arrived on the field at AT&T park in dramatic fashion, behind the wheel of a sleek Ferrari-style bat-mobile.

Scott’s Batkid personae was born last year when Miles, a leukemia patient, wanted to be a super hero for a day and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the people of San Francisco, all took up the cause.

Now, the Batkid has become a “real” local hero.
