Bear returns to Ashland home

Ashland, Ore. — The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is keeping an eye on a bear in Ashland that came through an open window last week.

According to landlord David Goodwin, just as our piece was airing on NBC5 News last night, the black bear made another appearance at his home.

Last Wednesday, Goodwin’s tenant came home to find the same bear in his living room. The second appearance Tuesday night was reported to ODFW, who tells us they are keeping a record of it and if necessary they will send out a trapper.

If you have a bear in your backyard or peeking through the windows, they advise you to make loud noises and wave your arms to shoo it away. You’re also asked to report it to the organization.
