Medford, Ore. — A bizarre car accident on Interstate-5 in Medford has road crews perplexed.
According to the Oregon Department of Transportation, a Suzuki SUV was traveling southbound on I-5 just south of the Medford interchange when it crossed the median and ended up on top of the guardrail.
The fast lane on the northbound side was closed off for a short time because of the accident.
Northbound I-5 was re-opened to one lane while crews worked to remove the vehicle. Both southbound lanes were re-opened shortly after the accident, but due to the back-up, traffic continued moving slow due to the Fern Valley Interchange project at milepost 25 where I-5 merges back to one lane during construction.

Oregon State Police Troopers say they aren’t sure what caused the car to cross the median or the extent of the injuries.
