Officials in Curry County say public safety and county services are on the line if a financial bailout isn’t reached.
Officials say the county is more than 3 million dollars in debt and the usual bailout from the federal government will not come through.
Officials say the property tax rate needs to be raised.
Curry County currently has the second lowest ratesat 59 cents on every 100,000 dollars of assessed value.
Officials say a bailout needs to be found by July.
