Central Point, Ore. — Central Point Police say they’re investigating a suspicious death after finding a 51-year-old male transient deceased on the Bear Creek Greenway on Wednesday morning.
Officials say a morning phone call regarding a welfare check on an individual on the Bear Creek Greenway is what led to the discovery of the deceased male.
Officials would not say how the man died, just that is was a suspicious death, meaning the man died from anything other than natural causes.
Detectives say a person of interest has been identified and is being interviewed.
Jackson County Major Death Investigations Unit (MADIU) is investigating this case.
