Coastal Counties Re-figure January Storm Damage

Curry county officials are scrambling to re-figure recent storm damage– after President Obama declared a major disaster exists in the state.

The President has ordered federal aid to help state and local recovery efforts in the counties affected by flooding, landslides, and mudslides that occurred early January.

Officials say that the original figures for Curry county damage was about $1.4 million. Disaster coordinators hope to get as much relief as possible.
