Commercial Crab Season In Oregon Is Underway

Commercial crab fisherman have set off from the Oregon Coast.

This morning, dungeness crab season has officially begun.

The season was delayed 15 days from the normal December first openingbecause the crabs didn’t have enough meat for a quality catch.

Last week fishermen and fish buyers in Oregon agreed upon a price of $2.65 a pound to start the season; 35 cents higher than last year and is the highest price agreed upon in the last 11 years.
