Creek Safety Warning

If your weekend plans take you to any of the creeks in our area, you may want to listen up.

A creek safety watch has been put in place for six nearby creeks.

Routine water quality testing indicated that the creeks exceed the states bacteria standards for contact recreation, such as swimming or wading.

Residents are asked to avoid contact with the water.

The creeks affected are Neil Creek, Walker Creek and the Ashland Creek, all of which are in Ashland.

The safety watch is also in effect for Bear Creek from Talent to the mouth of the Rogue River, Griffin Creek from Medford through the mouth of the Rogue River.

And finally, Jackson Creek from Central Point to the river.
