(WWBT) Chilling new dashcam video shows a woman shot after pointing a gun at a Virginia police officer.
The recording was just released and shows the split second decision a Colonial Heights Police Department officer makes when a gun is pointed straight at him. The woman shown in the video was on trial and she’s now cleared of attempted capital murder of an officer by reason of insanity.
In the video, you can hear the engine roaring as a high speed chase unfolds and see a woman speeding through Colonial Heights, leading Officer Greg Thinness to a dead end driveway.
After asking ten times for Melissa Alexander to show her hands six shots are fired, two of which hit the 44-year-old in the stomach.
The woman was critically wounded, but survived to see trial.
