Dia de Las Madres Festival

Medford, Ore. — Mother’s day came early on Saturday with a ‘Dia de Las Madres’ Festival.

Organizers said the event was inspired by last years Mexican Independence Day celebration. In Latin America Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 10th. And organizers said they wanted to bring that to Medford and said it’s all about uniting communities and families for some fun.

“The idea was to get your families out and what we noticed last fall was that it was all families. And we had all these people here and they brought their kids. You know they’re looking for something to do with their families and we’re providing that for them,” said Chuck Heeman.

Vendors and entertainers filled the field. The event was free to the public but a raffle was dedicated to all mothers.
