Fire and Police respond to string of fire calls

Police and fire crews responded to a slew of fire calls early Wednesday morning as four reports of fire were called in, within a close proximity of each other around the same time.

the break out caused police to consider the fires suspicious. Fire investogators on scene say its rare to have four calls within a close distance around the same time.

Samantha Methaney/ Medford Fire Inspector said,

“All big fires start small so thinking that you can control fire is a huge misunderstanding. It can grow exponentially fast and they’re very hard to contain.”

Two fires broke out on holly street, one on Pennsylvania Drive and one on Grape street.

Most were minor and contained to a small area but one shed on Holly Street suffered the most damage.

Authorities don’t believe that the fires are linked to last weeks massive warehouse fire but say they can’t rule anything out just yet while the investigation continues.
