Businesses in Ashland continued to rebuild today after a fire last week caused severe smoke damage to their stores.
Gold & Gems Jewelry in Ashland is expected to be closed for nearly two months while they replace their floors and paint their walls. The owner tells us that virtually everything in the store needs to either be cleaned or replaced.
In the meantime the, the owner spent four days cleaning the jewelry that received smoke damage. He plans on selling it at discount prices at his Medford location.
Some residents fear that the longer the stores are closed, the more business the plaza will lose.
