Medford, Ore. — Jackson County Board of Commissionersvoted to wait a year to tax marijuana. The County Board of Commissioners voted on Wedneday to have zero taxes implemented on the sale and production of both medical and non-medical marijuana, despite getting the authority to do so last month from voters.

Doug Breidenthal, Jackson County Commissioner, They can add a tax on production at any time, but will revisit the idea of a sales tax next year.

The county says zoning regulations wont be set up until the 29th, which means they still don’t know where marijuana dispensaries will be allowed to open.

Recreational marijuana use is set to become legal on July 1st.
