Klamath Falls burglary suspect captured by victim

Klamath Falls, Ore. – A Klamath Falls man takes matters into his own hands to catch a man suspected of burglarizing his home.

Robert Garrett found his home on Nile Street burglarized early Thursday morning…

“Just went into my house, and all my place was raided – all my guns were gone, my laptop.”

Acting on a tip, Garrett says he was able to track down the suspect to a home on Kane Street.

That suspect was later identified as 23 year old Bradley Allen Hansen…who had recently gotten out of prison.

“And he drove by, and when he seen me, he took off.” Said Garrett. “And we took off after him.”

Garrett says the chase lasted nearly 20 minutes, and hit speeds of 60 miles an hour…

“I mean, he was running stop signs, whipping into traffic, flying through gas stations…it was pretty fun.”

That pursuit eventually led them back to the house on Kane Street.

Garrett says the chase continued on foot…

“And he pulled my own gun on me. Then I told him that he’d better shoot, because I was going to kill him. And then he threw the gun down, and I detained him.”

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Hansen on charges including burglary, theft, menacing, and parole violation.

Police caution that Garrett’s actions were extremely dangerous…your safest choice is to call 911 in the event of any emergency situation.
