Klamath Falls woman accused of plotting to kill ex-husband

Klamath Falls, Ore. — A Klamath Falls woman is in jail, accused of hiring a man to murder her ex-husband.

66 year old Carla Clark was arraigned Thursday on a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.

Klamath County Deputy District Attorney Cole Chase says Clark plotted the killing of her ex-husband…

“Carla Clark conspired with Zane Skeen in exchange for a promise of money that Zane Skeen would kill Larry Wayne Clark.”

Larry Wayne Clark was found beaten to death in his home on Lindley Way in February of 2013.

Investigators say he died of blunt force trauma…but Chase isn’t saying just how they connect Carla Clark to the crime…

“Because our detectives are containing the work on the case, we can’t provide additional information.”

Carla and Larry Clark were divorced in November of 2012.

Under the terms of the divorce, Larry Clark had to maintain a 50 thousand dollar life insurance policy, with Carla as the primary beneficiary.

Clark was murdered about 3 months after the divorce.

35 year old Zane Sterling Skeen, a former neighbor of the Clark’s, was arrested in Arizona the month Clark died.

He remains in jail on a charge of murder.

Cole Chase says that Skeen has pleaded ‘not guilty’…

“We do have a trial date set in June. However, I suspect that the addition of a co-defendant may change that date.”

A ‘not guilty’ plea has also been entered for Carla Clark.

She’s being held without bail.

Prosecutors say they’ll make a decision sometime next week as to whether or not they’ll charge Carla Clark and Zane Skeen as co-defendants.
