Klamath Works Human Services Campus

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Efforts are underway in Klamath Falls to build an 18 acre ‘social services campus’, which would include the Klamath Falls Gospel Mission.

Alan Eberlein of Klamath Works notes that the ‘Human Services Campus’ would be located at the south end of the Sixth Street overpass…

“The concept is to consolidate as many social service providers as we can in one area.”

The area would also be the new home for the Klamath Falls

Gospel Mission.

“Total project is approximately 2.3 million dollars.” Notes Don Boyd of the Gospel Mission’s steering committee. “Raised to date, is a little over 1 million dollars.”

Gospel Mission Director Kent Berry thinks that’s an attainable goal…

“Hoping we have enough funds by January 2016 to break ground in March.”

Alan Eberlein adds the property was purchased by Sky Lakes Medical Center last year…

“They’re remodeling the old ‘West One’ building for some of their non-emergency services.”

Other campus services would include a sobering station, mental health office, and job skills training.

“I’m seeing the community coming together, and working as a unity.” Says Gospel Mission Director Berry. “And we really thank God for that.”

A celebration to introduce the new campus to the public will be held Sunday, June 14th at 12:30 at the location on South Sixth.
