Kruise of Klamath 2013

Thousands line Main Street in Klamath Falls for the 2013 ‘Kruise of Klamath’…

NBC2’s Lyle Ahrens takes a philosophic look at our fascination with cars…

The ‘Kruise of Klamath’ is a celebration of the automobile.

Cars that have reflected the times, like the jet age…military years…times of economy…and times of prosperity, and power.

“It was just a time of excess.” Notes Ken Knight of Chiloquin. “And it was a good time. Gas was cheap, engines had CC’s – this thing was a 396.”

Dean Klein adds that the cars also reflect America’s ability to travel, and have fun…

“Well, it might be because of the freedom we have here in the United States.”

The cars also reflect technology, and old ideas that are new again.

And maybe, the cars even reflect America’s diversity…

“Every one of them’s different.” Points of Gene Webb of Klamath Falls. “And that’s what’s so neat about this car show. All cars are different, every make and model, and the love that we have that goes into these cars – it’s just awesome.”
