Local resources for those affected by Orlando shooting

Ashland, Ore. — The worst mass shooting in U.S. history at an Orlando nightclub Sunday has shocked people all around the country, with Southern Oregon being no exception.

Monday, the founder of Southern Oregon Pride, Gina DuQuenne, said it’s a day of grief and mourning, but invites the public to stand together at a vigil to honor those shooting victims.

“It brings us together as Americans not just gay, lesbian, queer community but it brings us together as American citizens and allows us to hold on to each other,” she said.

A vigil will be held in Ashland’s plaza at 6:30 Monday night. There are also grief counselors available at the Queer Resource Center on Southern Oregon University’s campus. Click here for resources through Southern Oregon Pride.
