Medford, Ore. — The need for blood in Florida has brought many out to donate, and Medford’s American Red Cross blood drive was busier than normal Monday.
Volunteers said they usually only see a couple walk-ins, but during the first half of Monday’s event they had eight. While the blood will serve people in the Pacific Northwest, they said the massacre in Orlando Sunday morning is a reminder of how important it is to be prepared for a large scale emergency.
Another blood drive will be held at their office on Progress Drive Tuesday from 1:00 – 6:30.
