Man accused of ‘upskirting’ asks to plead guilty

Medford, Ore. – A man accused of taking a picture up an Ashland woman’s skirt told the judge he wanted to enter a guilty plea in court on Monday. John Lucier was supposed to appear for an arraignment, but instead told the judge he didn’t want a public defender, and instead wanted to plead guilty.

Lucier is scheduled to be back in court on Thursday at 1:30 PM, to formally enter a plea, as well as sentencing. The extra days will allow the District Attorney’s Office to contact the the victim, should she want to be in court during the sentencing.

Lucier is accused of taking a picture up a woman’s skirt last week at the Ashland Recycling Center on Water street. NBC5 News spoke exclusively with the victim, who told our cameras that she felt violated after the incident. Lucier turned himself into the Ashland Police Department the next day.

Lucier is facing ten misdemeanor charges of invasion of personal privacy, and tampering with evidence. He is behind bars at the Jackson County Jail on $10,000 bail.
