Student athletes read to Medford kindergarteners

kids readingMedford, Ore. —  Athletes at St. Mary’s School spent their lunch hour reading to students at Kids Unlimited Academy. Each Monday, the football team sets aside time to read to the kindergarten classes. The athletes say it’s a way to give back to their community, and the kindergartners say it’s a lot of fun.

“Sometimes I won’t even get a chance to read because I only see them once a week and they’ll just tell me about what happened all the other days so it’s really cool you build a real strong friendship with them, ” senior Kele Eaton says.

The team says they hope they set a good example for more people to volunteer in their own community.
