Central Point, Ore. — Michael Joseph Atwood, 51, was in court on Thursday for his first appearance. Atwood is facing a murder charge in the death of Rickey Michael Lemich. His attorney requested a preliminary hearing, which was set for the following week.
Lemich was found dead on the Greenway in Central Point, near the Pilot gas station on Wednesday morning. According to police, both men are transients.
