Medford, Ore. — A man walks out of work release, steals a truck, then drives it into a power pole according to Medford Police.
Fire and police responded to Keith Avenue off Black Oak shortly before 6:30 Friday night.
Police say the driver stole the truck just 20 minutes earlier from a home in Ashland.
Nobody was injured in the crash but it knocked out power to the entire neighborhood “They’re gonna have to replace the pole, secure those lines. They’ll be out here for quite a while.” said Brian Fish, Battalion Chief with Medford Fire.
Police arrested the driver. They say it looks like he was under the influence of an unknown substance at the time.
