Medford man found guilty, but insane

Medford, Ore. — Judge Tim Barnack has found a Medford man guilty, but insane in a carjacking at knife point.

Medford police say back on August 3rd, Christopher Willard had a knife in his hand when he approached a car at the intersection of Jackson and Central, the driver refused and struggled with Willard as the car rolled through the intersection.

Willard reportedly took off in the car and a police chase ensued. Several agencies got involved and Willard was eventually pulled over on Agate Road in White City.

A mental health expert reviewed Willard and concluded that he suffered from psychotic disorder. His condition was made worse by Methamphetamine use.

Willard was sentenced to 20 years under the care of the psychiatric security review board.
