Medford man in jail after attacking roommate with machete

Medford, Ore. — Alcohol, an argument and a machete, mixed to create a dangerous situation today, February 26th.

Medford Police say two roommates in the 400 block of Newtown Street had an argument this morning and one of them, 56-year-old James Herron, grabbed a machete then swung it at the victim who blocked the blow with his hand. The victim got stitches at the hospital and was released.

Herron is in jail charged with 2nd degree assault.
