William Nelms from Medford says he’s still reeling from the shock of what happened to him Wednesday afternoon.
“I stepped out my front door I took about two or three steps and I was confronted by about ten swat,” says Nelms.
He says it all started when he called 911 at around 4:30 in the morning, after hearing an explosion at the DA’s office.
Nelson says the 911 operator told him they were aware of the situation, so he went to bed but at around noon…
“They stuck guns in my face told me to put my hands above my head and then they proceeded to cuff me and I said what all this about and they said that I was on probation and I was absconding.”
Lieutenant Mike Budreau wouldn’t talk to us on camera but told us that Nelms violated his probationand was just one of a number of people they questioned about the bombing incident.
“They asked me if I could call the owner of the house and any neighbors that had seen me or knew my whereabouts at 4:30 inthe morning wouldquickentheir case tremendously and would help me being let go.”
“I told them straight up i saw him at around 4:30 on his front porch they said that was fine and it was all over,” says Mike Burnett.
Raymond Smith who owns the house Nelms lives in says he feels singled out.
“I was a littleuncomfortablei mean I’m not entirely sure why it went down that way its not my business but Ididn’texpect to find my friend in handcuffs,” says Smith.
Nelms denies he did anything to violate his probationand says it’s the police that violated his rights.
