The pre-trial of a Medford man who police say killed his girlfriend is expected to start Monday in Jackson County.
One year ago on March 5th, 2011, 51 year old Mitchell Below was found alive with self-inflicted knife wounds, but his girlfriend Bonnie Payne was found inside the couple’s West Medford apartment dead.
It is expected Below’s attorney will claim that his client was insane at the time of the murder, when Below allegedly strangled Bonnie Payne to death.
The trial is expected to last three days.
