Medford Police investigating homicide

SirensMedford, Ore. — Medford Police say they’re investigating a homicide following a shooting on Bartlett Street, north of Main Street early Sunday morning. MPD has identified the victim as 27-year-old Central Point resident, Isaac Deleon.

Officials say officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting around 2:15 a.m. and when they arrived citizens were giving first aid to the Deleon, who was lying in the street with a gunshot wound to his upper torso. When medical personnel arrived to the scene the Deleon was pronounced dead.

MPD says there were multiple witnesses to the shooting and the initial investigation indicates that Deleon was walking with his friends when they encountered a group of three Hispanic male adults when one of the Hispanic males took out a handgun and shot Deleon.

Officials say the suspects were last seen in the area of Riverside Avenue and 8th Street. The suspects’ descriptions vary, but they are described as all wearing dark clothing, with the shooter wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
