Medford residents will soon see two separate utility bills in their mailbox come 2013.
On Thursday, the city council approved a new software system that would split user’s utility bill from their water bill. The split comes after the city and the Medford Water Commission couldn’t agree on a joint billing system.
Officials say the split will take effect by next summer and shouldn’t result in higher bills for residents.
It’s estimated that the city will pay roughly 220-thousand dollars for the new system.
