Officials caution boaters about debris piles at Lost Creek

Ore. — The Army Corp of Engineers says Lost Creek Lake is experiencing one of the largest debris flows in the history of the reservoir.

Currently, the debris is collecting into three different piles around the lake.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is warning boaters and fisherman using Lost Creek Lake of the large amounts of debris and wood floating throughout the reservoir. They say the large quantities of debris is blamed on the heavy rainfall in December. It was noted the rainfall was the second largest inflow of water into the lake.
