Open House Meeting For Butte Falls Community Forest And Trails Project

BUTTE FALLS, Ore.- The Bureau of Land Management and Butte Falls are hosting an open house meeting to ask for community feedback on the Forest Recreation Plan and the Fredenburg-Butte Trails Project.

The National Park Service’s River, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program continues to support Butte Falls in developing a plan.

Along with the plans for the community forest, the BLM is proposing a new, non-motorized trail system north of town, which they plan to elaborate further at the meeting. More information on the trail plan can be found at eplanning.blm.gov

“When you start a project that’s big like this… it’s a fantasy, it’s not really going to come true. And when it does, it just kind of hits you,” Butte Falls former Mayor Linda Spencer talked to our reporters in 2021 about the acquisition of the land.

The open house meeting will take place at the Butte Falls Community Hall on October 26th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
