Oregon Lawmakers Reach Budget Deal

Progress in Salem overnight–where Oregon lawmakers reached a budget compromise.

The deal avoids closing a Salem prison– while retaining more than 13 million dollars in cuts to in-home care providers of seniors.

The new deal also erases just over 200 million dollars in planned spending, affecting most facets of state government.

Governor Kitzhaber is expected to sign the budget agreement today.
