Over 200 people in need receive free Christmas meal

Medford, OR– Tender turkey, savory stuffing and pumpkin pie were just some of the offerings today at the Medford Gospel Mission’s Annual Christmas Eve dinner.

For 56 years the dinner has been serving those most in need during the holidays. Guests were also treated to gift bags of goodies including hygiene items and hats.

But when asked what was the favorite item, we found a clear winner.

“The warm socks I’ll put on tonight, but probably the desert,” said Gordy Proctor, a dinner recipient.

However, his 14-year-old granddaughter’s favorite, was a little different.

“I love the mission and it’s a wonderful place where homeless can be,” said Lila Whiting.

More than 200 people were served today at the mission.
